Hand Smocked Black and White Dress with Roses Sizes 1 thru 8 - Georgina

This beautiful dress is made of 100% Swiss Cotton Voile-Stripe, alternating 3/8" white & black stripes with woven black thread dots in the white stripe.

It is hand smocked 10“ from the shoulder. The smocking has been done in the front as well as in the back of the dress. The hand smocking consists was done using black (#0007) and white (Blanc) #15 Finca Egyptian perle cotton. The embroidery in the front and the back of the dress consists of a total of 60 red rose buds made using DMC cotton floss # 321 of two (2) center bullions of six (6) wraps each surrounded by five (5) 10-wraps each bullions made using DMC cotton floss # 604 and two (2) lazy daisy green leaves made using DMC cotton floss # 561.

The Peter Pan collar is a gathered ¾” wide band which has been finished with a black crocheted edge using #15 Finca Egyptian perle cotton and embellished with black maxi piping. The puffed long sleeves have matching gathered edge and black maxi piping. The straight opening at the back of the dress is closed with five (5) Dill white buttons. The back opening is finished with a placket with an extra length of approximately 4” so it is easy to put on and take off. The dress has a 1” wide buttoned belt at the back with white matching button. The dress is finished with French seam at the sides. The hem is hand sewn. The buttons are hand sewn with an extra button sewn in the inner side seam.

This pre-shrunk machine washable dress is fully lined using white pima 100% cotton petticoat quality from Spechler Vogel.
Due to availability of fabric patterns exact fabric as shown in the picture cannot be guaranteed. Similar fabric may be substituted.
