Hand Smocked - First Communion - Ruth

This beautiful dress appropriate for First Communion is made of 100% pure cotton fabric**. The classic lines of this dress enhance special occasions. A self-fabric mini piping divides the yoke in two (2) parts. The lower part of the yoke is hand smocked using Finca™ perle cotton #16 thread and has been enhanced with flowers made using DMC white 100% cotton floss and lazy daisy stitches.

The jewel neckline and armscyes are finished with a self-fabric mini piping. The skirt has been enhanced with six (6) pin tucks, three (3) of each are sewn on each side of a 7/16 inch wide pure silk white ribbon at the lower edge.

The back yoke is plain, fastens with three (3) white buttons (an extra button is included, ‘just in case’) and a sash tie.

A placket having a length of approximately 4.0 inches makes for the dress easy to put on and take off. The side seams of the dress are French seams. The dress is lined with an underlay of 100% white pure cotton** for comfort with French side seams for strength.

The hand-washable pre-shrunk dress is beautiful, comfortable, and functional.
