Uniquely designed, this blue dress is made of ice blue Dupioni silk fabric. The classic lines of this dress enhance special occasions. The smocking and embroidery have been made using two (2) strands of ecru DMC© Floche thread. The embroidery has been made using Bucilla© 4 mm pure silk ribbon light pink (544), mauve (553), and light avocado (240) to embroider five (5) roses, 15 rosebuds, and leaves along the vine.
The skirt has three (3) bands of pure silk ribbon and three (3) pintucks at each side of the pure silk ribbon and lined with light blue Bemberg rayon fabric. The puffed sleeves have been finished using a matching band of pure silk ribbon along the cuff and are lined with white pure silk organza.
The back yoke is plain, interfaced, self fabric lined, and is attached to the skirt using a light blue mini piping. The back bodice fastens with two (2) mother-of-pearl buttons (an extra button is included, ‘just in case’), a sash tie, and a placket having a length of approximately 4.5 “ which makes for easy put on take off.
The dress has a bias strip along the jewel neckline. The side seams of the dress are French seams.
The dress has been pre-shrunk and can be either hand wash or machine washed on a gently cycle and hang dry. This dress is beautiful, comfortable, and functional. Please note that this natural silk fabric has soft thick nubs which are an inherent part of the fibers and add to the individuality of the dress so that these nubs should not be mistaken for flaws in the fabric.
