This beautiful dress appropriate for First Eucharist (formerly Communion), is made of 100% Swiss pure cotton batiste fabric**. The classic lines of this dress enhance special occasions. The yoke is hand smocked, from shoulder to waist using Finca™ white perle cotton #16 thread and has been enhanced with white bullion knots flowers made using white Finca™ 100% perle cotton.
The jewel neckline is finished with a self-fabric bias band. The short sleeves are enhanced using a band of double sided white pure silk ribbon.
The skirt has been enhanced, at the lower edge, with three (3) tucks and two (2) 7/16” wide pure silk white ribbon - one band - each side of white Cluny lace.
The back yoke is plain, fastens with four (4) white buttons (an extra button is included, ‘just in case’) and a sash tie.
A placket having a length of approximately 4.0 inches makes the dress easy to put on and take off. The side seams of the dress are French seams. The dress is lined with an underlay of 100% white pure cotton** for comfort with French side seams for strength.
For those that want an extra fullness to the skirt, we recommend adding a petticoat. Click here to see the petticoat we have for first communion dresses.
Due to availability of lace patterns exact laces as shown in the picture cannot be guaranteed. Similar laces may be substituted.
The hand-washable (or dry clean) dress is beautiful, comfortable, and functional.
