It is made using Spechler Imperial batiste. In addition to the smocking, the bonnet is enhanced with two (2) 1” wide French lace insertion bands and three (3) sets of corded pintucks with a set on each side of the French lace insertion.
The neck edge and front are finished with matching French lace edging.
The bonnet has been constructed using a short piece of entredeux. The bonnet is back smocked on the inside so the smocked area will keep its shape. The bonnet ties under the chin with 1” wide double sided pure silk ribbon and at the open crown with matching ribbon which allows the bonnet to be adjusted for size, comfort, and baby's growth.
Perfect for Christening, Baptism, Dedication, Blessing, portraits, parties, and special occasions. It has been lovingly crafted by an experienced seamstress from Colombia who designed it so it would look good on her Granddaughter or your Special Little Angel.
Due to availability of lace patterns exact laces as shown in the picture cannot be guaranteed. Similar laces may be substituted.
We strongly recommend that before hand washing the bonnet, the ribbon at the open crown be completely removed. This action will facilitate not only the washing but also the drying and the ironing that will follow. Hang to dry. Do not wring dry. While still slightly wet spray starch and touch up lightly with warm iron making sure not to iron the smocked area. Place back the ribbon at the open crown.
