This beautiful christening gown features a yoke which is delicate hand embroidered using shadow work for a magnificent bow; bullion knots for the little flowers; lazy daisy stitches for the leaves; and backstitch for the branches. The embroidered was executed using DMC® 100% white cotton Floche Á Broder.
The yoke has been embellished with a set of three (3) corded pintucks and a band of French cotton lace insertion on each side of the embroidered.
This length of this size 3 - 6 months gown is approximately 36 inches and approximately 9 inches shoulder to shoulder and is uniquely designed using the finest quality 100% white Swiss Super Fine cotton batiste fabric.
The front hand smocked area of the skirt is embellished with white roses embroidered using bullion knots. The lower edge of the skirt is finished with two (2) sets of corded pintucks with six (6) pintucks each set. There are four (4) bands of French cotton lace insertion and two (2) bands of French lace beading with an additional four (4) corded pintucks enhancing the bands of French lace. The French cotton lace beading bands features double sided pure silk ribbon which has been attached to the lace by a total of 52 embroidered roses and leaves matching the roses and leaves on the smocked area.
The skirt which is approximately 2.4 yards wide has been finished using matching French cotton edge lace.
The collar is enhanced by a corded self-fabric mini piping along the neckline edge.
The back opening edge fastens with seven (7) mother of pearl buttons (an extra button is included, 'just in case') which adds comfort and makes the gown easy to put on and remove.
The construction of the short puffed sleeves includes matching smocking at the lower edge of the sleeves giving place for a band of matching double edge white pure silk ribbon to fasten the sleeves with a bow allowing for adjustment of the cuff. The sleeves are finished with matching French cotton edge lace.
French seams have been used at the sides of the skirt for elegance, durability and comfort.
The gown comes with a bonnet and a white petticoat, approximately 35" from shoulder to hem. The yoke has been embellished with a hand embroidered arrangement of roses, leaves and branches using white DMC® 100% white cotton Floche Á Broder.
The comfortable petticoat is made of Spechler Vogel 100% white Pima cotton batiste, with French side seams for strength, and fastens at the back open edge with seven (7) mother of pearl buttons (an extra button is included, 'just in case') which adds comfort and allows easy put on and remove. The neckline and armcye have been finished using a bias self-fabric band. The hem features two (2) sets of corded pintucks with five (5) pintucks each and French cotton edging lace.
The machine washable pre-shrunk christening gown is beautiful, comfortable, and functional. It has been lovingly crafted by an experienced seamstress from Colombia.
Due to availability of lace patterns exact laces as shown in the picture cannot be guaranteed. Similar laces may be substituted.
