Uniquely designed, this dress is made of Spechler Vogel 100% Swiss Super Fine cotton batiste fabric**. The classic lines of this dress enhance special occasions. The bodice is hand smocked with a trailing vine of 21 roses and glass beads that highlights the lower edge of the yoke. The roses are hand embroidered using DMC© #604 thread to make the bullion knot at the center and the two (2) inner petals. The rose is finished with six (6) bullion knots using DMC© #819. Each rose has a leave on each side made by casting-on stitches using Anchor™ Marlitt green blue #1052. A cluster of three (3) individually sewn glass beads between the roses completes the vine trail. Note: This cluster of beads is optional.
The back yoke is plain, fastens with three (3) hand sewn buttons (an extra button is included, ‘just in case’), a sash tie, and a placket having a length of approximately 4.5“ which makes it easy to put on and take off. This sleeveless dress has a bias band along the jewel neckline and the arsmcyes. The side seams of the dress are French seams. The dress is lined with an underlay of Spechler Vogel 100% Pima cotton batiste** for comfort with rolled side seams for strength.
The machine washable pre-shrunk dress is beautiful, comfortable, and functional. It has been lovingly crafted by an experienced seamstresses from Colombia who designed it so it would look good on her Granddaughter or your Special Little Angel.
*Available in all white for First Communion.
**Available in silk lined with rayon.
